Apologies, all: no newsletter this week. I've just been promoted!
The new title is "Dad," and the job description is very broad. Some duties are extremely complex. Others are, frankly, more custodial. I'm training on the job for both, on top of my existing responsibilities.
The hours are also unusual. Last night my new boss called several urgent meetings in the middle of the night and screamed through every one of them. No agenda, no calendar invite, no notice. She made demands of both me and my coworker that neither of us fully understood, then abruptly fell asleep. Her management style will take some getting used to.
Good news from the office, though: everyone is healthy, happy, and excited to head home in the coming days.
I hope to write more soon about all the joyful changes that come with this role. For now, I'll just say the first 48 hours have been overwhelming, and completely lovely.
