Another week away

2 min read

Hi y'all,

I'm happily away from writing again this week. Macy and I are working our way up and down the mid-coast of Maine on our summer vacation, so in place of the usual five things, there are a bunch of photos I took instead (below).

One thing before I go. Edna St. Vincent Millay was a poet born in Rockland, one of the towns we stayed in. I went looking for a poem that fit the trip and "Exiled" is the one that stuck. She wrote it in New York, homesick for this exact coastline, and it closes:

I am too long away from water.
I have a need of water near.

Great couple of lines, and they hit this week. It's been good to get back to the Atlantic for a stretch. I love Colorado, but it doesn't do coastline very well.

Back next week with the regular programming.

Til next time,

Joey
